Laser Hemorrhoidectomy

A laser hemorrhoidectomy is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a laser beam to remove hemorrhoids. It is designed to target and destroy the blood vessels that supply the hemorrhoid arteries, causing serious hemorrhoids to shrink and eventually dissolve, and with minimal incision, this procedure gives patients the perfect solution. Local anesthesia is applied, as before the procedure, the doctor may inject a local anesthetic into the spine's bone marrow to reduce pain.

The benefits of a laser hemorrhoidectomy include:

  • Less pain and safety: in comparison to traditional hemorrhoidectomy, it is accompanied by a lot more pain, which the patient may have to endure even after the procedure is over. Laser cutting is typically less painful compared to incisions made using a scalpel. On the other hand, it is completely safe and has a lower risk of infection.
  • Less Bleeding: Laser hemorrhoidectomy reduces blood flow, whereas, other surgical complications are quite improbable. The tissues surrounding the hemorrhoid remain unaffected yet the laser seals off the blood arteries in the anal area, and it results in minimal bleeding during the treatment.
  • No peri-tissue damage: The chances of damaging other tissues near the hemorrhoids and in the spine muscles are quite low when the hemorrhoids are removed with a laser device. With laser hemorrhoidectomy, this risk of spine muscle damage is eliminated. If the spine muscles are damaged, it might cause fecal incontinence, making the condition even worse.
  • Fast recovery: The patient who has undergone laser hemorrhoidectomy can proceed with their regular routine with a minimum of a two-day rest they can see how soon the quality of their lives has improved after surgery, and the patient is allowed to return home within an hour of surgery, resting for a few hours is necessary for the patient to heal completely. In many cases, the healing time is much shorter. On the other hand, conventional hemorrhoidectomy can cause discomfort and sensitivity for several weeks, and the patient may not be able to return to their normal routine for a month.
  • Early discharge: Patients do not have to admit or spend the entire day in the hospital. In many cases, the patient can be discharged from the hospital within an hour or a few after the surgery. This also reduces the hospitalization costs.
  • Easy to conduct with a high success rate: Laser hemorrhoidectomy is way easier than conducting conventional hemorrhoidectomy. With an advanced laser device, the colorectal surgeon has much more control over the surgery and it approximately takes an hour to complete. The procedure has also been proven to have a high success rate.

Hence, the laser hemorrhoidectomy procedure is widely preferred in comparison to the traditional one. It greatly causes less pain in postoperative care, allowing faster recovery, complete safety, and comfort. The success rate and surgical outcomes of laser hemorrhoidectomy are much better than traditional surgical procedures for hemorrhoid removal.
